Day 86: Another glorious day (and a little sunburn), another visit to what seems to be becoming my second home at the moment, Bristol Zoo Gardens. Yesterday, their new Dinosaur feature was officially opened to the public. Dotted around the park are twelve life-like animatronic dinosaurs of various species. These dinosaurs move, hiss, roar and some of them even spit water at you. Nice! As the weather was due to be hot and with it being a Saturday, I decided to get there early to try to avoid some of the rush. For the first time since I have had my annual membership I managed to see the gorillas outside. I made sure I was around for feeding time, as this gave me plenty of opportunities for photographs. Today’s subject is Jock, the adult male of the western lowland gorillas. Standing around 6 feet tall this giant of a beast weighs around 34 stone (220kg). I don’t think I need to explain why he is nicknamed The Protector!
