Day 80: My Bristolian followers may be able to recognise the subject of today’s photo. The old Bridewell Police Station in the centre of Bristol is a grade II listed building, which has stood since 1928 and operated as a police station from 1928 to 2005. It is now home to over 40 artist studios as part of ArtSpace LifeSpace. You may wonder what’s so special about this image but if you view it at full size, you will see that the build up of dust and dirt from the traffic, etc. has been stenciled with a pressure washer to create this massive flock of birds. The rest of the building has similar stencils around it and although I suppose this could be considered graffiti, it has been done in a non-destructive way and actually contributes to the beauty of this neglected exterior.
